Leah Gose is a visual artist specializing in photography.  She is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX.  Leah holds a B.A. in photography from the University of Colorado – Boulder and an M.F.A. in photography from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.

Her practice reflects the multilayered ways of investigating perception, memory and personal history and incorporates both historic and contemporary photographic methods to reflect past, present and future. Imagery is created using a combination of analogue, alternative and digital photographic processes. The works contain elements of truth and fiction, resembling vague memories and the reconstruction of events.

Each photograph challenges vision, distorts reality, and includes elements of fiction, motion, distortion, and enchantment. The work is intended to summon such boundaries in settings where psychological space heightens senses and invites relationships to unknown, yet familiar landscapes. Her work has been exhibited in various venues both nationally and internationally.
